One of my companies, Ashley Substation, Inc. did some hot work today. Lot's of prep and paper for a few quick moments of "take your breath away" fun. I've spared you the four hours of briefing and inspecting (in which you guys should also be interested) and cut right to the the juicy stuff.

Here is some information about the video:

Posted by John Ashley, owner, Contractor Safety, LLC. This is a video of Tinker & Mr. Jimmy getting it done in Fisher, Arkansas. These guys are professional, trained and experienced linemen doing one of the most hazardous task on the planet...

HOOKING HOT JUMPS TO A 151,000 VOLT TRANSMISSION LINE. (Don't even think about trying something like this on your own !!!)

I recorded this with my phone while the sun was directly overhead, unfortunately the quality is bad but the content is pretty amazing. From 60 feet above you can hear it arc as the hotstick engages the line. Scary but real. Linemen like this put there lives at risk so you & I can live in comfort. It is no small thing they do. Let's hear it for "Mr. Jimmy" & "Tinker".

red exit lights vs green exit lights

I am wanting to know  if I should I buy red exit signs or green exit signs? Does OSHA care? Is there one that is more accepted in the mechanic industry? Thanks Mary
