Knowing the category of your hazard

The lessons that we learn when we first start learning are often the ones that we tend to forget over time. Robert Fulgrum wrote a book entitled "Everything I needed to learn I learned in Kindergarten" that turned into a bestseller. It was essentially a reminder of the important lessons that we have forgotten over the years such as "Play nice" and "Everything is better with milk and cookies".

DUST EXPLOSION TESTING REQUIREMENT UNDER NEW OSHA NATIONAL EMPHASIS PROGRAM

Dust explosions are a serious hazard in industries nationwide. They lead to the loss of production, plant/facility destruction and personnel injury or fatality.



In 2005, the US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board issued a report stating that between 1980 and 2005, at least 281 deadly combustible dust incidents (fires and explosions) occurred in the U.S., killing 119 people and injuring 718 others while extensively damaging or destroying facilities. Electrical Safety for Construction Site Workers

The first steps in eliminating and controlling electrical hazards in construction sites are to provide proper training and PPE to affected employees.
