flashback arrestor location

Flashback arrestors on oxy-fuel welding rigs are most commonly located at the regulator. However, torch makers like Victor place them in the torches. Do any list members know if US OSHA has ever specified in writing where they must be located? Many say that placing them both at the regulator and torch is not good because it restricts gas flow too much.Wm R. Bunner, CET "Bill" trngassoc@aol.comPs. Here in Tuxpan, Mexico we are just using them in the torch heads.See More

I was a TN CSHO - now I'm a TOSHA Safety Consultant - which I enjoy so much more. I'm extremely pleased and more than a little suprised at the level of safey compliance and performance by Mexican workers. All we ever hear are the horror stories where production comes before safety in every instance. Thanks for sharing!
