Pre-employment physical assessments

I am trying to reduce our worker's compensation costs.  I am the safety manager for a temporary staffing agency within a manufacturing facility.  We screen hundreds of potential candidates a week, but some have slipped through with pre-exsisting medical conditions and because we are not allowed to ask if they have pre-exsisting conditions, we have ended up with worker's compensation claims.  Is there some kind of pre-employment physical assessment tests we can conduct that will help us to…See More

Topic Assistance

One of my pet prives about EHS systems and programs is that I spend alot of my time retrofitting OSHA, building code etc codes/rules after a system has been put in place by the design department.  I am currently enrolled in a MS degree program and am preparing a paper on this problem, is it because there is not enough education in the OSHA requirements in manufacturing?.  I have determined the root cause to be the lack of curiculim or required courses for design engineers at the college…See More
