Hand protection is purchased according to the specific tasks to be carried out by employees. Selection of appropriate hand protection is made on the basis of evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use and the hazards and potential hazards identified. Occupations/activities that may be exposed to these types of hazards include painters, welders, electricians, parts cleaning and food preparation.
