I was recently compiling a list of various construction, roof, and safety expos & conferences for one of my company's newsletters and came across the following:

National Green Products Expo 2011
May 17-18, 2011
Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas
http://www.ngbpe.com/

Though it isn't until next year, I feel that this particular expo is very important not only because the products being discussed and/or demonstrated have a positive impact on the enviroment, but due to the increase in energy reforms and other conservation measures the U.S. Government is taking at the moment. We can all do our part to help Mother Earth, and through research and support of these new technologies, there definitely can be a more energy efficient future.

Does anyone know af any state or federal agencies that offer assistance with tree purchaes? I have a decent piece of land behind my facility that faces due south and is flat open land. I would like to turn this into a forest to minimize our carbon footprint and local wildlife. I am located in the southern part of Chicago. Cook county.....
Any help is appreciated.

Our corporate office in VA has supported trades for the ship yards for 21+ years. As I investigate wind energy positions, it appears some of the same skills sets can be transitioned. I've enjoyed reading comments from the "wind safety" experts and viewing the photos. I'll be back as we build a strong Energy Recruiting Team at CTR. This is back to my roots as I started at New York State Electric & Gas in Ithaca and moved on to South TX Nuclear Project with Bechtel in Houston.

well, I've caught the "Green Bug". I've instituted a freen initiative to go oonline for out MSDS sheets and get rid of the giant paper binders al over the warehouse. it'll save money, time, space, and ensure we are always compliant with OSHA's Haz Comm Standard by having all MSDS sheets readily available. I'm making several MSDS Stations around the warehouse that any associate can access. Once it's implemented in our facility, it's being brought to corporate to go nationwide! WOW that happened fast!!

Thanks, Just read it. His article went from informational to instructional and I found it slightly generic in terms of Wind energy fall protection issues. Also a little bias seeing as the author works for a firm that developes fall protection. The issues regarding fall protection on a wind turbine are far more extensive than just putting on a harness and climbing. Each section of the tower assembly (4 all together) presents different safety issues as the climber assends the tower. He also did not mention the biggest killer resulting from a fall, suspension trauma.

red exit lights vs green exit lights

I am wanting to know  if I should I buy red exit signs or green exit signs? Does OSHA care? Is there one that is more accepted in the mechanic industry? Thanks Mary
