Within the next year, Target will be mandating SQF Standards for its food suppler audits. Are other distributors adopting SQF as well and is this part of an emerging trend?

I began my career in food safety at the retail and wholesale level, so would be curious as to how this pertains to world class quality and what is the specific food safety issue. Just curious, since it has been a few years since I have practiced in the private sector. Still actively involved through the military, though. Thanks!

It is a step made by the quality assurance group towards world class quality and as a food safety issue. I understand coming from quality assurance myself, however operations is wondering is others are making this move as well. I do expect that the employees dissatisfaction might make for some interesting safety incidents thus using safety as way to get it absolved.

Judy,

Curious what is the rationale for long sleeve over short sleeve shirts? Is it a food safety issue or general safety?

I am wondering how many of you that work in food have employees in long sleeve shirts? We are in the process of changing from short sleeve to long sleeve and needless to say it is not being accepted very well. I guess no air conditioning in the facilities does not help.
