It seems this is an outdated question,. My own conclusion is that DART and injury rates may be low because of, other than safety factors such as the industries'rate of pay and benefits. The stats for work illnesses and injuries is low. average wages is in the mid twenties.. Perhaps this is why! Of course there is the probability that the records are incorrect, who knows.

I came across an interesting statistic: "The U.S. semiconductor industry ranks in the top 5 percent of durable goods manufacturers for safety, with only 1.5 reportable injuries and illnesses per 100 employees, based on Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data for 2005." Does anyone have any insight as to why the rates are so low?
