Permalink Reply by Billie Jo Schultz on April 23, 2013 at 6:29pm I am finding out that there is always something to learn I learn on a daily basis sometimes. Ive been in the field almost 10 years and I found out that I learn more by talking WITH (not to them) the guys on the field, once you get them talking about there job and safety you learn alot about ALOT! They really do wanna know and comply but they won't if they feel like they are being told what, and how it should be done. Ask them questions instead you'll be suprised how much they know and how much they will use it when they know they are a part of making the right choices without being told to do the right thing.
My personal statement that I use all the time in leadership workshops is as follows:
"Good leaders are those who know how to motivate and challenge people at all levels of an organization to achieve their best performance. In addition they support and provide the resources necessary to ensure it is possible to meet the goals that have been set”.

Wayne
