Forestry / Sawmilling

I am interested to find if there are any members who are involved in the forestry and/or sawmilling industries. Safety is a huge part of our organization and would like to hear other points of view from around the world. I am also interested to hear what safety systems are being run at different places.

I never have worked in a sawmill but I sure do appreciate your input and your efforts to promote safety. Thank you.

I teach the 10 and 30 to several mills/ logging operations and you are right, However, workplace Safety here seems to be the last thing on the agenda...Not to mention the language barrier. Hispanics seem to be the major workforce ,I am encouraging the owners to hire a bilangual foreman. They are the ideal employee , all were very interested in safety and ask many questions..... the owners need to make the investment for the future, my opinion.

No offense to you or your bilingual Foreman but in America, the ideal employee reads, writes, and speaks English. Unfortunately, many sectors of the business world go for cheap rather than quality.
